Aside from being a blooming flower as my mother so eloquently stated, I am a proud wife to a former high school band nerd (but a really cute one without big ears) named Ben with two incredibly hysterical children that provide me with most of my material, Emilyn who is 4 going on an inappropriate 14 and Greyson who is closer to 2 than I’d like.

I used to think that Ben was the lucky one, being that he got an older and wiser woman (9 months but still) AND a former high school senior vice-president despite the fact that he played trombone in band (there’s a hierarchy in high school remember – and student council doesn’t associate with band).  But many years ago, I realized that I am the grateful one.  In fact, that moment happens every single time I am being neurotic about anything, because he still makes me pee my pants with laughter.  And when I was pregnant, that was usually daily, with or without the laughter.  So, I guess that’s my goal here.  To make you pee your pants.

And also, that whatever season you are in life, that this blog would serve to remind you there isn’t a right way to go about doing it and if you start living life like that, not changing how you do things because of how others might perceive and judge you, I dare to say you’re gonna have a life filled with joy.  At the very least, filled with laughter.  That sounds all pretty doesn’t it.  Well, if people still give you unsolicited advice about your life, just start playing Farmville.  They’ll defriend you.

  1. I loved your blog – the details were certainly something that ALL moms, especially, can relate to!! However, there is at least one consolation to being a mother of young children – they DO grow up and, prayerfully, become a “blooming flower” like you, Kim. You take it all in stride and keep things in perspective. Here’s to you, doll!! Mimi aka Kim’s mom who is richly blessed …. :)
